Salary Range: Up to £220 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled English Teacher to join secondary schools across Sheffield.

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that ignite students' interest in reading, writing, and critical thinking. You will support their academic progress, help develop their literacy skills, and manage classroom behaviour effectively. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a positive impact on students’ educational journeys and further enhance their teaching skills.

Responsibilities of an English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Foster a love for reading and writing through creative teaching methods.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies and create a productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the school’s wider community.

Requirements of an English Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong communication skills and classroom management abilities.
  • Passion for literature and supporting students' academic development.
  • Ability to engage students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
