£12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Southampton Branch are thrilled to unveil a fantastic opportunity for a nurturing and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant at a friendly and inclusive school nestled in the beautiful New Forest! 

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing personalised assistance to help them thrive in their learning environment.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents to aid in their development.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Knowledge of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
