Position: Behaviour Support Assistant

Salary Range: £12.82 Per Hour
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: November 2024


Are you interested to work with children struggling at school? Are you a young educator or perhaps wanting to experience the education setting in Bournemouth? GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a primary school in Bournemouth. The school is well reputed for it’s approach towards young students and also encourages children with behavioural and SEN needs to join to experience the mainstream school until they are required a SEN School environment. The school has an inclusive, innovative approach towards education and the supportive staff community is also very respected. Although the school is mainstream, due to the inclusion of SEN students, prior SEN experience is highly recommended.

This position is primarily for permanent role but part-time arrangements can also be made for the right candidate.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans.
  • Supporting the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
