About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students with additional needs thrive in their learning environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting children with a variety of educational and emotional needs.

Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing behaviour.
  • Helping students with their social and emotional development.
  • Implementing tailored learning plans and adapting teaching strategies.
  • Supporting children during break times and ensuring their well-being.

Requirements:

To be successful as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, in a school or care setting.
  • A calm, patient, and understanding approach to working with children.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Two references from within the last 2 years.
