As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students with additional needs thrive in their learning environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting children with a variety of educational and emotional needs.
Responsibilities:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with special educational needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing behaviour.
- Helping students with their social and emotional development.
- Implementing tailored learning plans and adapting teaching strategies.
- Supporting children during break times and ensuring their well-being.
Requirements:
To be successful as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, in a school or care setting.
- A calm, patient, and understanding approach to working with children.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Two references from within the last 2 years.
