Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time / part-time

GSL Education Bournemouth branch are seeking a committed and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Christchurch right away.

About the role:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will help students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with teachers and staff to provide personalised support and create a positive learning atmosphere.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Help put individualised learning plans and strategies into action.
  • Work with teachers to create and adjust educational approaches.
  • Support students in building their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Create a safe and welcoming learning space where everyone feels included.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to encourage good communication and teamwork.
  • Keep track of student progress and share feedback and recommendations as needed.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
  • Understanding of ASC and SEMH and the ability to implement effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in special education, social work, or a related field are desirable.
