1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £83.33 to £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education Southampton, are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly school in Portsmouth. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child on a one-to-one basis, helping them thrive in their educational journey.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the child’s learning and emotional development, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.
Responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide dedicated support to a child in the classroom as their 1:1 Teaching Assistant.
- Help the child with academic tasks and encourage their engagement in lessons.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor the child’s progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher.
- Support the child’s social and emotional development, ensuring their wellbeing.
Requirements for 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare are desirable.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
