Sports Coach (Secondary SEN school)
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £83.33 to £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about sports and looking for a rewarding role? GSL Education Southampton, are seeking a Sports Coach to join a supportive and inclusive secondary SEN school in Portsmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, helping students with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their physical and personal goals.
As a Sports Coach, you will play a key role in engaging students, helping them to develop their fitness, confidence, and teamwork skills. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students are active, motivated, and achieving their best.
Responsibilities as a Sports Coach (Secondary SEN school):
- Plan and deliver engaging sports activities tailored to students' abilities and needs.
- Encourage participation and foster a positive attitude towards physical activity.
- Support the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Work with teachers to adapt sports sessions for SEN students.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, celebrating their achievements.
Requirements Sports Coach (Secondary SEN school):
- Previous experience as a Sports Coach, ideally within a school setting.
- An understanding of the needs of SEN students.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young people through sports.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A relevant coaching qualification (desirable).
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
