Learning Support Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £83.33 to £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about helping students succeed? Do you want to make a difference in a school setting? GSL Education Southampton, are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in Portsmouth and support students in their learning journey.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to help students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is compassionate, patient, and ready to contribute to the success of every student.
Responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for students.
- Help manage classroom behaviour to create a positive learning environment.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) to access the curriculum.
- Work with other professionals to ensure the best support for students.
- Encourage and motivate students to engage in learning.
Requirements for Learning Support Assistant:
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- A positive and encouraging attitude.
- A passion for working with children and helping them grow.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
