ASD Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Ashington
Salary: £75 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Supply or Long-Term

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? GSL Education, Newcastle are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ashington.

As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with ASD, helping them achieve their full potential in the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, patient, and eager to work with young children in an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities as a ASD Teaching Assistant (Primary):

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans for children with ASD.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Help maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Encourage social interaction and development of communication skills.
  • Support students with personal care needs, if required.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on student progress.

Requirements for ASD Teaching Assistant (Primary):

  • Previous experience as an ASD Teaching Assistant (Primary) or in a similar role is preferred.
  • A caring, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and strategies to support ASD students in a primary school setting.
