Residential Support Worker (Child)
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £110 to £170 per day, depending on experience
Contract type: Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

The Role:

As a Residential Support Worker (Child), you will play a crucial role in providing day-to-day care, support and guidance to children in a residential setting. This position involves working closely with children to create a safe, nurturing and structured environment, promoting their well-being and personal development.

The School:

GSL Education ‘Newcastle Branch’ are currently working in partnership with a well-resourced primary school in Gateshead that requires a Residential Support Worker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are considering a career in teaching and are keen to gain valuable experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children in a residential or similar setting.
  • Possess a genuine passion for working with vulnerable children and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Be patient, empathetic and understanding approach to care.
  • Contain flexibility and adaptability to cover various subjects.
  • Have a passion for education and supporting students' learning progress.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Have strong communication and classroom management, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
