Physical Education (PE) HLTA (Higher-Level Teaching Assistant)
Location: Newcastle
Start Date: Immediate
Salary Scale: £75-£110 per day
Contract: Long-term, Full-time/Part-time
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Physical Education Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (PE HLTA) to join one of our vibrant client schools in Newcastle. This is an amazing opportunity to support students' physical education and development by assisting teachers in delivering engaging, structured lessons. The successful candidate will contribute to creating and maintaining a high standard of behaviour in PE lessons and extra-curricular activities.
As a PE HLTA, you will be responsible for helping students enhance their physical skills and well-being while fostering a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities of a PE HLTA:
- Supporting the PE teacher in planning and delivering high-quality PE lessons.
- Leading small groups of students in various physical activities and sports.
- Encouraging all students to participate actively and supporting those with additional needs.
- Promoting health and fitness among students by leading warm-ups, exercises, and games.
- Managing student behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Assisting with extra-curricular sports activities and events.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience working as a HLTA or teaching assistant, preferably within PE.
- A relevant qualification or experience in sports coaching.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage and engage pupils effectively.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
