Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant SEMH
Location: Newcastle
Salary:
£75- £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? 


GSL Education are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in a welcoming school in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students, helping them reach their full potential and develop key skills in a supportive environment.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, your primary role will be to support students both academically and emotionally, helping them overcome challenges in the classroom. group assistance. You will work closely with teachers to implement tailored learning plans, manage behaviour, and provide one-to-one or group assistance.

Responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant SEMH:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in both group settings and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive attitude and a patient, supportive approach.
  • Provide emotional and academic support to help students overcome challenges and develop confidence.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring clear communication with teachers and parents/guardians.

Requirements of the Graduate Teaching Assistant SEMH:

  • A genuine interest in working with students with SEMH needs.
  • A recentdegree, preferably in education, psychology, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive attitude and a patient, supportive approach.
  • Previous experience working with SEMH students is desirable but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
