GSL Education are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to work with Post 16 students in Newcastle starting immediately.

This Graduate Teaching Assistant - POST 16 role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with older students, assisting teachers in creating an engaging learning environment and supporting students as they prepare for their next steps in education and life.

Graduate Teaching Assistant for POST 16 - Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering structured and engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Post 16 students.
  • Provide targeted one-on-one support to help students with their academic challenges, ensuring they stay on track with their studies.
  • Promote independent learning by guiding students through coursework and helping them develop effective study habits.
  • Contribute to lesson planning by offering insights and ideas that enhance the learning experience for Post 16 learners.
  • Help manage classroom activities and foster a positive environment where students feel motivated to excel.

Requirements for Graduate Teaching Assistant - POST 16:

  • A recent degree (preferably in Education, Psychology, or a related field).
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Experience working with students, particularly at the Post 16 level, is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting older students in their academic journey.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
