Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Totton
Salary: £83.33 to £95 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: ASAP 
Contract: Full-time and Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in Totton.


As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to both teachers and students, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere. Whether working with small groups or assisting individual students, you will play a key part in helping them reach their full potential. This is a great opportunity to start or grow your career in education, with full-time and part-time positions available for an immediate start. Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and supporting classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning.
  • Help maintain a positive and safe classroom environment for all students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to the teaching staff.
  • Supervise students during school activities, including trips and break times.

Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for education and supporting student development.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to students' individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are beneficial but not required.

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
