A welcoming and supportive school in Southampton is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. In this role, you will support students in their daily learning, helping to create a positive and engaging atmosphere. You will collaborate with teachers and educational professionals to ensure students receive the guidance they need to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide personalised support to students, helping them grasp challenging concepts.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Supervise students during breaks, trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Track and report students' progress to teaching staff.
  • Support the social and emotional well-being of students.


Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
