Salary: £30,000 - £55,000 per annum

GSL Education’s client school in Hackney is looking for a dedicated and dynamic Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join their vibrant team.

As an RE Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on students' lives, fostering respect, empathy, and critical thinking. Your role will be essential in helping students navigate and appreciate the complexity of global beliefs and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality religious education lessons across key stages.
  • Encourage students to explore and discuss various religious beliefs and practices.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure a safe, supportive learning space.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and their families on academic progress.
  • Prepare students for exams by delivering engaging revision sessions.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities related to religious education.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in religious education and curriculum changes.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to support cross-curricular learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements and progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, and a degree in Religious Education or a related subject.
  • Previous experience as an RE Teacher, ideally in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of various religions and ethical perspectives.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and thought-provoking lesson plans.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • An understanding of the UK education system and relevant curriculum standards.
