Teacher of French
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: November 2024 or January 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are looking to appoint a qualified Teacher of French fora long-term position at a client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. A start date of November 2024 or January 2025 will be considered. The position is suitable for an experienced teacher wishing to expand their expertise, or an ECT seeking their first teaching position.

As a Teacher of French, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering effective French lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Stage 5 experience is ideal, but not essential.
  • Focussing on developing students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in French Language.
  • Adapting teaching and learning methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Being part of a supportive and established Department.
  • Participating in professional development activities.
  • Preparing students for external examinations, including GCSE and A-level, through effective teaching and tailored revision sessions.

Teacher of French Requirements:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Is keen to work alongside an established, highly motivated team.
  • Be able to deliver French to secondary level; having French as a second language is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent proficiency in the French language, including fluency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Experience working with children who have a variety of disabilities and/or learning difficulties, or an eagerness to go through training.
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
