SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Location: Cramlington
Salary: £75 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Join the dynamic team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant  in Cramlington and help shape the futures of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary):

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a secondary school setting.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students achieve their goals.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development in students.
  • Work with other staff to implement behaviour plans and strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant (Secondary):

  • Previous experience as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient nature.
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
