Learning Support Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary Scale: £83.33 - £95 per day

About the role:
GSL Education is currently seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants for a position at one of our special needs Primary schools in Portsmouth. In this pivotal role, you will provide tailored support to students with SEN, playing a key part in enhancing their academic and social development. The students may have severe learning difficulties, including physical disabilities, with some personal care required. You may also work with students who have moderate learning difficulties, such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia, helping them achieve success in both their learning and personal growth.
Learning Support Assistant Role:
- As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide one-to-one support to a specific student with learning needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans.
- As a Learning Support Assistant, you will collaborate with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and other professionals to support the student effectively.
- Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the student to promote their well-being and engagement.
- As a Learning Support Assistant, you will monitor and track the student's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as needed.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.
The successful Learning Support Assistant candidate will:
- Willingness and openness to working with students in a one-on-one setting and in small groups who has learning difficulties.
- The capability to arrange educational activities based on student proficiency with assistance from a teacher.
- Development of social skills and assistance with individual needs.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Providing counselling and academic help.
- Though not a prerequisite, experience working with young individuals with special needs is preferred.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
