Salary Scale £83.33 - £95 per day

About the Role:
GSL Education is currently collaborating with a wonderful Special Educational Needs primary school situated in Portsmouth. As a Teaching Assistant in our Portsmouth schools, you will play a pivotal role in assisting both teachers and students, contributing to a positive and effective learning environment. In this setting, you may work with students who have severe learning difficulties, including physical disabilities, which could involve elements of personal care.

Teaching Assistant Role:

  1. Classroom Assistance: Collaborate closely with teachers to provide support during lessons, helping to facilitate a productive learning environment.
  2. Student Engagement: Encourage student participation and active engagement in the learning process, fostering a passion for education.
  3. Adaptive Support: Be ready to assist students of varying abilities and across different year groups, offering a diverse and rewarding work experience.
  4. Progress Monitoring: Work with teachers to monitor and track student progress, providing valuable feedback to support their development.
  5. Inclusive Education: Promote and maintain an inclusive classroom environment where all secondary school students can succeed.
  1. Personalised assistance : Offer personalised assistance to students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.


Requirements forTeaching Assistant :

  • A passion for supporting primary school students with Special Educational Needs in their educational journey.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with students of different ages and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and organised approach to classroom support.

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you should: 
 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
