Job Title: Teaching Assistant

£83.33 to £95 per day

Contract: Full-time and Part-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant school in Southampton.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to both teachers and students, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment. The role of a Teaching Assistant is crucial in ensuring students receive the personalised attention they need to thrive academically and socially Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, you will play a key part in helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher with classroom activities and preparation of learning materials.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Supervise students during breaks, trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Track and report students' progress to teaching staff.

 

Requirements of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered with the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
