Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Salary: £75 - £110 per day

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, working closely with teachers and supporting students in their learning journey.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a primary school, you will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. You’ll assist the class teacher with daily tasks, work with small groups, and provide one-to-one support where needed.
Responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary):
- Support the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Assist students with their learning, offering one-to-one support and conducting small group sessions.
- Help create a positive and safe learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain focused and on task.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing learning materials.
To be a successful Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary), you need:
- A degree in any subject.
- Passion for education and working with young people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a primary school setting.
- Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
