About the Role:

AS a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with the staff to support students with ASC and SEMH needs, helping to implement individualised learning plans and providing personalised support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of individualised learning plans and tailored interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to support student progress and well-being.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and making adjustments to support strategies as needed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching practices through reflective practice and collaboration.

Requitements:

  • A genuine passion for working with students with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Experience in a similar role or relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN qualifications) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the complexities associated with ASC and SEMH, with the ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
