SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £75 - £110 per Day
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need extra support.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary), you will play a vital role in helping students overcome their challenges and thrive in a supportive learning environment. Whether you're experienced in this field or keen to take on a new and rewarding challenge, this could be the perfect role for you.

Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary):

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom activities, group work, and one-on-one support.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement tailored learning plans.
  • Encourage students' emotional and social development.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress to ensure they reach their full potential.

To be a successful SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary), you need:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for supporting young learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
