Personal Assistant and Office Manager
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: 17th of October 2024 or sooner
Contract: Full-Time

GSL Education is an Education Recruitment Provider, currently supporting an Ofsted graded Outstanding School on the outskirts of York, to appoint an experienced, Full-Time Personal Assistant and Office Manager. Job Description:

  • To provide efficient and effective support to the Principal in all aspects of their role.
  • To manage the administrative functions in the school.
  • Responsible for Receptionist, Administration and Reprographics.
  • Receipt, prioritisation and forwarding of the Principal’s incoming communications, including vetting of incoming calls for the Principal.
  • Management of the Principal’s diary.
  • Confidential admin support for the Principal and Vice Principals.
  • Line management of school administration staff, including performance management.
  • Clerking School Council meetings including preparation of agendas, minute taking and managing governor appointments and terms of office.

Person Specification:

  • GCSE English and Maths at a Grade C or higher, or equivalent.
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification, for example in Business Admin.
  • Experience of working in a PA role (or suitable administrative experience).
  • Experience of leading, managing and motivating staff and providing clear vision and direction.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, verbally and in writing, with the ability to gain credibility at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to use standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service, or the willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
