Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: £83 - £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time
GSL Education are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Secondary Teaching Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision located in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible. The position is suited for Graduates considering a career in the education sector, experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
Secondary Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and promoting independent thinking.
- To support the class teacher in the delivery of a creative curriculum, outdoor curriculum, or play-based learning curriculum.
- To work in partnership with other support staff, teachers, and outside agencies to ensure each child receives the best education and support.
- To track progress and developmental markers.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a love for learning.
Secondary Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Be educated to Degree level or hold a relevant Level 2 qualification or higher in childcare.
- Have a clear understanding, knowledge, or hands-on experience of supporting people with autism, learning difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health needs or speech, language, and communication needs.
- Be a flexible, dynamic, and reliable practitioner.
- Have a genuine desire to work in the education sector.
- Have a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
