Teaching Assistant (SEN Experienced)

Location: Lincoln
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education are currently seeking an experiencedand compassionate Teaching Assistant to join schools in Lincoln, available to start immediately. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and a desire to help them succeed academically and personally. You will be making a genuine impact, working closely with students to help them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibilities:

As a SEN Experienced Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, including those with SEMH, ADHD, and additional needs.
  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the individual needs of students, ensuring they are aligned with the school curriculum.
  • Support the personal and social development of students, helping them build confidence, independence, and essential skills.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to adapt lesson plans and implement effective strategies for student progress.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Step in to assist classroom activities during teacher absence, ensuring a smooth continuation of lessons.

Job Requirements:

To excel as a Teaching Assistant – SEN Experienced, you will need:

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not required).
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a relevant field is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant with children in an SEN setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and patient approach.
  • The ability to adapt to the specific needs of students and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
