Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Lincoln

Salary: £83.33 to £90 per day

GSL Education’s Lincoln branch is excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our client schools. This role is ideal for those experienced in managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with behavioural difficulties in their educational journey.

Job Summary:

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work with students who have challenging behaviours, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to help them succeed both inside and outside the classroom. You will be a key figure in promoting positive behaviour and supporting students in managing their emotions.

Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Job Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural challenges, helping them to engage with the curriculum and manage their behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour management plans to help students regulate their emotions and respond positively to challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with students to create a trusting and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure a coordinated approach to student behaviour management.
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting behaviour support strategies where necessary.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation skills in students.

Essential Requirements for a Successful Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and their impact on learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to managing difficult situations.
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
