Teaching Assistant
Location: Romsey, Southampton
Salary: £12.82 - £14.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education’s Southampton branch is seeking a dynamic Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning experience for students in Romsey. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about education, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be committed to helping students succeed.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide individualised support and contribute to a positive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities for Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist classroom teachers with the delivery of instructional materials and activities.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students as needed.
  • Help with classroom management and maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials for lessons.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as grading and record-keeping.
  • Monitor and support students' progress, providing feedback and encouragement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications for Teaching Assistant:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • Basic knowledge of classroom management techniques and educational best practices.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and tools is a plus.
