Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £90 - £115 per day
Start Date: Immediately
Are you looking to make a real difference in the classroom? GSL Education are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join schools in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in leading a classroom and maintaining student engagement in the absence of regular teachers. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that students stay on track with their learning by delivering pre-prepared lessons and offering vital support.
This role as Cover Supervisor offers the chance to work with a variety of students, making each day a unique experience. Whether it’s assisting with one-to-one support or managing the classroom, your contribution will have a direct impact on students' success.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise and manage classroom activities, ensuring students remain focused on their work during teacher absences.
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans in line with the curriculum across different Key Stages.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
- Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment that promotes learning.
- Encourage student participation and ensure they stay on task throughout the lesson.
- Uphold school policies on behaviour and learning expectations.
Job Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
- Previous experience in a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is essential.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
