About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this exceptional school, you’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to children with diverse learning needs. You’ll play a key role in helping students overcome their challenges, ensuring they receive the guidance, care, and encouragement they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Morning Support: Provide focused assistance to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including ADHD and those at risk of self-harming.
  • Afternoon Flexibility: Work across Key Stages 1 and 2, offering crucial support wherever needed to help students reach their potential.
  • Nurture and Inclusivity: Use your knowledge to create a warm, supportive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
  • Collaborate: Work hand-in-hand with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalized support plans and interventions.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Foster strong, caring relationships with students to support their social, emotional, and academic development.

What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this role, we’re looking for someone who is passionate, proactive, and ready to make a difference. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices is essential.
  • Collaboration Skills: The ability to work well as part of a team and independently when needed.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or child development would be beneficial.
