GSL Education are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in one of our friendly Special schools based in Cosham. This school caters for children who have difficulty managing social interactions and struggle to regulate their emotions.

This school is looking for an enthusiastic person to join their welcoming and supportive team.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working under the guidance of an experienced teacher to help support the needs of all the children in the class. You will be working with small groups of children or children on a 1:1 basis. Through your role, you will help to build a nurturing environment for the children to grow and learn in. Some children may need help regulating their emotions, so a calm and patient approach is desired.

Ideal candidates will have relevant experience working with children who have learning difficulties and complex needs, have a positive personality and are able to work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding. Additionally, having a knowledge of PECS or Makaton would be an advantage.

The benefits of working here:

•            £76.92 - £95 per day

•            Full Time (Term time only) – 8:30am – 3:30pm

•            Location: Cosham 

•            Start time: ASAP

To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you should: 
 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
