SEMH Teacher


Location: Kensington and Chelsea
Salary: £145 to £230 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is seeking experienced and committed SEMH Teachers to join special schools in Kensington and Chelsea. These schools cater to students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for passionate educators with previous experience in these areas to help students thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH, MLD, and ASC.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes learning and personal development.
  • Manage challenging behaviours in a calm and positive manner, using appropriate de-escalation techniques.
  • Collaborate with support staff, SENCo, and other professionals to meet the needs of each student.

Requirements:

  • Previous teaching experience in SEMH, MLD, or ASC settings is essential.
  • A teaching qualification and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
