Job Position: Deputy Head of Year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head of Year at a vibrant secondary school for girls in Tower Hamlets. Starting in January 2025, this role will give you the chance to make a real difference in students' lives by providing support, guidance, and leadership to two year groups.
As the Deputy Head of Year, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and academic success of students by working closely with staff, students, and parents. If you are passionate about education, have strong organisational skills, and can inspire young minds, this could be the perfect role for you!
Deputy Head of Year Responsibilities:
- Use SIMS to monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.
- Communicate with parents to address concerns and update them on their child's progress.
- Supervise and engage with students to maintain a positive school environment.
- Provide one cover lesson per week.
- Support the Head of Year in overseeing the pastoral care of two year groups.
- Organise and participate in year group assemblies, events, and activities.
- Work closely with teaching staff to support students' personal, social, and academic development.
Deputy Head of Year Requirements:
- Experience in a similar pastoral or student support role.
- Proficiency in using SIMS for student data tracking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to supervise and engage with students, maintaining a positive learning environment.
- A commitment to promoting student welfare and safeguarding.
