English Teacher – Supply and Long-Term Roles in York
GSL Education is looking for passionate and adaptable English Teachers to join our team for supply bookings and long-term roles in secondary schools across York. If you’re a qualified teacher with a love for English and want flexible work that fits your schedule, we’d love to hear from you!
Position: English Teacher
Location: York (Various Secondary Schools)
Contract: Supply and long-term opportunities available
Start Date: Ongoing
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Teaching English: Deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5.
- Inspire Students: Help students develop a love for literature, language, and creative thinking.
- Flexible Work: Choose from day-to-day supply bookings or commit to longer-term roles depending on your availability.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive learning environment and manage student behaviour effectively.
- Student Progress: Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their potential.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS, with a Degree in English.
- Experience Teaching English: Experience in secondary schools in the last 2 years; A-Level teaching experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Passionate Educator: A genuine passion for teaching English and inspiring students to improve their language and literacy skills.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work across different schools and environments in York.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Able to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
