GSL Education are seeking Cover Supervisors to join our team, for Day to Day and longer term roles and provide valuable support in the classroom. This is a rewarding role for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to make a real difference in students' lives.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be covering lessons and ensuring a positive learning environment when teachers are absent. This role is perfect for those who are looking to gain experience in schools and explore a career in education.
Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and manage the classroom in the teacher’s absence.
- Ensure students stay on task with their work.
- Support students with any questions or issues they may have.
- Maintain a calm and positive atmosphere in the classroom.
- Work with school staff to follow behaviour and safeguarding policies.
To be a successful Cover Supervisor, you should:
- Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different classrooms.
- Strong communication skills.
- Confidence in managing groups of students.
- A genuine interest in helping students succeed.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work on a flexible basis, whether you prefer short-term or long-term assignments. You will be a key part of the school's team, helping to ensure that students can continue their learning in a structured environment.
