SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Tonbridge
Salary: 83.33-90 per day

GSL are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Tonbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a caring individual to help children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide personalised support for students with additional needs. If you have the patience, compassion, and the drive to support children in their development, this could be the perfect role for you!

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant include:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs in both one-to-one and group settings.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and preparation tailored to students' individual needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in the classroom.
  • Helping students with personal care tasks where necessary.
  • Monitoring and reporting student progress to the teacher and SENCO.
  • Promoting inclusion and helping students engage in all aspects of school life.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
  • A calm and patient approach to working with children with additional needs.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to assist in all areas of student development.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, care, or support roles are desirable.
  • Flexibility to work on a temporary basis, starting ASAP.
