School Administrator
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £110 - £170 per day
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education’s Newcastle branch is seeking a highly organised and efficient School Administrator to support the smooth running of schools across Newcastle. This role is ideal for individuals with strong administrative skills and a passion for contributing to the education sector.

Job Summary:

As a School Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the school’s administrative functions. You will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks, including handling correspondence, maintaining student records, and providing support to staff and parents.

Key Responsibilities for School Administrator:

  • Manage the school’s front office, welcoming visitors and responding to inquiries from students, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and databases, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, documentation, and correspondence for school administration.
  • Coordinate school events, meetings, and activities, ensuring all logistical aspects are well managed.
  • Provide administrative support to teaching staff, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
  • Handle financial transactions, including invoicing, payments, and budget tracking.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures, ensuring a positive and productive environment.
  • Assist with student admissions and enrolment processes, liaising with parents and guardians as needed.
  • Maintain communication with external agencies and stakeholders, providing updates and information as required.
  • Support safeguarding and child protection measures in line with school policies.

Essential Requirements for School Administrator:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with school management software is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
