Part-time Key Stage 2 Class Teacher

Location: Christchurch  

Salary: based on teacher pay scale MPS/UPS

Start Date: January 2025    

Contract: Fixed-term (scope for permanent) Part-time - 3 days a week

GSL Education are currently partnering with a mainstream primary school in Christchurch, to find a committed teacher who is seeking new teaching opportunity starting in January.  

The ideal candidate will be motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for education and a heart for nurturing young children. If providing high-quality education and care is at the centre of your practice, then this could be the perfect position for you. The role will consist of planning, delivering lessons and working collaboratively in a job share arrangement. Monitoring the progression of children’s learning and communicating clearly with other members of staff will be an important part of the role. The position is based in Key Stage 2.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons that cater to the range of learning needs within the class

• Communicate and work closely with the job share teacher

• Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where each child feels valued and supported

• Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and accessible learning environment

• Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to pupils and parents

Requirements:

• Teaching Certification (QTS /PGCE)

• Solid knowledge of the primary curriculum

• Previous experience working in a primary school is essential – this can include placements at university

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
