SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary
Location: Sunderland, Tyne & Wear
Salary: £75 - £100 per day
Contract: Full Time, Temporary
GSL Education are recruiting a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant for secondary schools in Sunderland. This role focuses on supporting students with SEMH needs, aiding their educational and social development.
Job Summary:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH difficulties.
- Work closely with SENCOs and teachers to implement effective strategies.
- Foster a supportive and understanding environments for all students.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist students in managing their emotions and behaviour.
- Support the delivery of personalized learning plans.
- Facilitate communication between students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs or similar roles.
- Strong empathy and resilience.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must satisfy all background checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
