Learning support assistant - Primary school

Join our dynamic team at a primary school as a Learning Support Assistant and embark on a rewarding journey in education! We're on the lookout for a passionate learning support assistant who thrives on making a positive impact in the lives of young learners.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in providing tailored assistance to students, ensuring they have the support they need to excel in their learning journey. Your responsibilities will include providing 1:1 support for a child with special educational, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, while also integrating them as fully as possible into classroom activities and ensuring progress. You'll run specific programs and activities to meet the individual needs of students, implementing targets from their Individual Education Plan (IEP) in collaboration with class teachers and the SENCo.

  • Provide learning support in 1:1 situations
  • Develop knowledge of each child's needs
  • Seek advice from the SENCo and other professionals as needed
  • Facilitate access to a range of learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Modify materials and resources as required
  • Create and maintain an inclusive learning environment throughout the school
  • Foster positive interactions between students
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in working with children with special educational needs through ongoing training and relevant meetings
