Design Technology Teacher
Location: Malton, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2024 or sooner

GSL Education is working with a Secondary in the Malton area of North Yorkshire, to appoint a full-time Design Technology Teacher, with an immediate start date. For the right candidate, a September 2024 will be considered.

About the Role:

  • Planning and delivering a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for Product Design and Resistant Materials classes, aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Delivering high-quality and interactive lessons that incorporate practical skills related to product design and resistant materials technology.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the areas of teaching for which you are responsible.
  • Create opportunities for learners to develop their literacy, numeracy, ICT and thinking and learning skills.
  • To play a full part in the life of the school community, and to encourage staff and students to follow this example.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development training and courses.

Design Technology Teacher Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Candidates should hold Qualified Teacher Status in the UK, or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised by relevant education authorities.
  • Relevant Degree: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Subject Specialism: Strong subject knowledge and expertise in Design Technology, including proficiency in areas such as graphics, resistant materials, or electronics.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience, ideally within a secondary school setting, is required. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant training and experience will also be considered.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding: Awareness of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, complying with school policies and statutory requirements.
