Job Title: Year 6 Primary Teacher (SATS Focus)

Payscale: M1 – M6 (£162.31 – £223.63 per day) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role:
As a Year 6 Primary Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for their end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to excel. You will create an engaging learning environment that fosters academic achievement, personal development and resilience. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring pupils are well-prepared for their SATs while maintaining a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities of the Year 6 Primary Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, SAT-focused lessons that meet the National Curriculum objectives.
- Provide targeted support and interventions to bridge learning gaps and maximise pupil attainment.
- Develop engaging revision strategies to build students’ confidence and exam readiness.
- Use formative and summative assessment methods to track progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEN specialists and senior leaders to ensure tailored support for all pupils.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, resilience and academic ambition.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and carers, keeping them informed of pupils’ progress and strategies for home support.
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives aimed at raising attainment and promoting academic success.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
- Have a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs assessment framework.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of raising pupil attainment and preparing students for SATs.
- Possess excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Be skilled in differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL.
- Show commitment to maintaining high expectations for both academic achievement and pupil well-being.
- Have the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive school environment.
- Be available full-time and ready to contribute positively to school life.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
