Full-Time English Teacher – Basingstoke, Hampshire
A secondary school in Basingstoke is seeking a passionate full-time English Teacher, starting from Easter 2025 or September 2025, with a competitive salary range of £30k to £50k per year, depending on experience. This permanent role offers a supportive teaching environment, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract following a successful probation period. The school welcomes applications from ECTs and experienced teachers looking to inspire students through engaging and dynamic English lessons.
Responsibilities of the English Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them excel.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.
- Support students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
- Uphold and follow school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
Requirements of the English Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT).
- Experience teaching English at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm in students.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
