Design & Technology Engineering Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

Are you a creative and innovative Design Technology & Engineering Teacher looking for your next challenge?

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology and Engineering Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Southampton. This full-time role comes with a competitive salary between £30,000 and £50,000 per year, and a permanent contract is available after a successful probation period. The position starts from Easter 2025 or September 2025, and the school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators.

Responsibilities of the Design & Technology Engineering Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical lessons in Design Technology and Engineering, inspiring students to develop their creativity and technical skills.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students gain hands-on experience with industry-relevant tools and techniques.
  • Encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation in the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain a safe and organisBed workshop environment, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and deliver outstanding learning experiences.

Requirements of the Design & Technology Engineering Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology and Engineering, with experience in practical and theoretical teaching.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students with creative and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
