Disability Support Worker in Dorchester

Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join a wonderful team at a school in Dorchester.

In this role, you will provide vital assistance to students, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with disabilities.
  • Help students with daily tasks and mobility, ensuring they have access to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create and implement support plans tailored to individual students' needs.
  • Promote independence and encourage students to engage with their learning and social activities.
  • Keep detailed records of student progress and assist in monitoring their development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students or individuals with disabilities is desirable but not essential.
  • A caring, patient, and understanding approach to supporting students with special needs.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs are would be a plus.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
