GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school in Gosport. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with various SEN. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson delivery, helping students engage with the curriculum, and providing both one-to-one and small group support. The goal is to ensure that each student feels valued, supported, and confident in their learning.
Key Duties:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN as a key part of the SEN Learning Support team.
- Assist in the delivery of lessons, ensuring that SEN students are fully engaged and can access the curriculum.
- Guide students through tasks and activities, offering clear instructions and encouragement.
- Track students’ progress and adapt support strategies where necessary to ensure continuous development.
- Foster an inclusive learning environment where students with SEN feel safe, confident, and motivated to participate.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable for this SEN Learning Support position.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both students and staff.
- A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
