Job Title: Food & Nutrition Teacher

Salary Range:
£38,766- £60,092 per annum (Depending on experience)

If so, GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food & Nutrition Teacher to join a vibrant school community in Newham. Starting in January 2025, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape students’ understanding of nutrition and culinary skills, preparing them for a healthier future.

Responsibilities of the Food & Nutrition Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and practical Food & Nutrition lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Inspire students to develop a love for cooking, healthy eating, and food science.
  • Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and well-equipped teaching environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and promote cross-curricular learning.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, events, and professional development.

Requirements of the Food & Nutrition Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in Food & Nutrition or related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Food & Nutrition across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong knowledge of food science, health, and safety standards.
  • A passion for inspiring students to develop practical skills and a love for cooking.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
