Rate: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join a supportive team in South Shields. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a significant impact on the lives of children with diverse needs.
About the Role:
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care and support to children in a residential setting. You will work closely with other staff to create a safe and nurturing environment, helping children to develop both personally and socially.
Key Responsibilities of Residential Support Worker:
- Provide Direct Care: Offer day-to-day care and support to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Support Individual Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Monitor Well-being: Track and assess the well-being and progress of each child, adapting support strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with Staff and External Agencies: Work closely with other support staff and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's care and development.
- Create a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all children feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Engage and Motivate Children: Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate children, catering to different needs and preferences.
- Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of each child's progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to relevant parties.
Requirements of Residential Support Worker:
- Experience: Prior experience in supporting children in a residential setting is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the care community.
- Commitment: Demonstrate a deep commitment to helping children, exhibiting patience and empathy.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in childcare or social work (desirable but not essential).
