Job Title: Head of Department (Math Teacher)

Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year
Start Date: September 2024
Contract Type: Full-time

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Secondary schools in Chelmsford as a Head of Department (Math Teacher).

The Role:

As the Head of Department (Math Teacher), you will lead a team of passionate teachers in delivering outstanding math education. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the Math department with vision, enthusiasm, and strategic direction
  • Developing and implementing a dynamic and engaging math curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
  • Providing instructional leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and learning experiences
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing intervention strategies to support student achievement
  • Mentoring and coaching staff to enhance their teaching practice and professional development
  • Collaborating with other departments to promote cross-curricular learning opportunities

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of successful teaching in mathematics
  • Experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • A passion for mathematics and a commitment to instilling a love for the subject in students
  • The ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues
  • A strong understanding of current educational trends and initiatives in math education
